The Pneumatic Tube is 2's method of transferring items from oThe Pneumatic Tube is RedPower 2's method of transferring items from one point to another. Items move considerably faster through Pneumatic Tubes than through Buildcraft 3 Pipes (that is, pipes that do not have pneumatic hose fittings at intervals to speed up items) and do not require pipes at intervals to maintain item speed. By and large, Pneumatic Tubes function in the same way as Buildcraft Pipes. However, there are not more than one kind of Flexible Plastic Tubing in RedPower as there are different types of pipes in Buildcraft. Functions such as sorting, item "gates" and so forth are performed by different machines. Also, Pneumatic Tubes cannot interact with some of BuildCraft's blocks and machines such as the Autocrafting Table or do not work well with them.Instead of using wooden transport Pipes to move items out of a Chest or other inventory, RedPower utilizes Filters and Transposers to move items. Transposers will pull items from an adjacent inventory (such as a chest) one at a time.  Filters are basically upgraded Transposers - instead of pulling items one at a time, they can pull a whole stack.  They also have the additional benefits of only pulling/accepting specific items (which can be set in their ui) and being able to assign a color to an item or group of items (Pneumatic Tubes can be painted so that they only accept items with specific colors assigned).

what type of air hose will suit your application best


Before getting into the different types of air hoses for an air compressor, you'll need to determine which size fitting your compressor requires. Most hoses for air compressors range in size from 1/4" to 1" in diameter. You should be able to find which hose diameter is suitable by looking at your air compressor. Some air compressors will allow you to use several different sized hoses, simply by switching out the feed controller hose fitting (where the hose and air compressor connect). Another point to think about, larger tools will require more air to power them, which means you'll need a compressor with more power.
Next, you'll want to think about hose length. For a workshop, where the compressor and air tool(s) are kept close together and do not require extra reach, consider a 25' or 50' air hose. If you're a contractor on the construction site, 50' to 100' hoses typically work out better. Keep in mind, you'll still need the correct fittings to connect your air hose to the tool and compressor.
The last thing to consider - also the area that offers the most "flexibility" in choosing an pneumatic hose - the material it's made from. Most air hoses on Nail Gun Depot are made from either polyurethane or rubber. For applications working with pneumatic tools, we generally recommend either of these materials. PVC and nylon air hoses are also available, but are generally less durable and are not intended for high-pressure usage. Rubber compressor hoses are fairly common, generally for home workshop use. Rubber material handles temperature change well, making it a suitable choice for powering an air tool. For more intense use, contractors generally prefer polyurethane air hoses, which also do well in extreme temperatures (warm and cold), but offer added flexibility with less risk of damage.

Using a less-dense foam to reinventthe industrial shock absorber

One option was to use a less-dense foam, but past experience had shown that thinner cell walls combined with high compression caused premature failures. Changing from foam to a small bladder accumulator solved the oil buffer problem. While foam averages 46% solid material by volume, the bladder design, in comparison, averages only 13%. The bladder accumulator made better use of the available volume, solving the dilemma of fitting a larger piston in the same-size housing.
 This extensive range lets design engineers industrial damper with higher safety factors within the same package. In some cases designers can specify smaller sizes at a lower cost. Applications include packaging machinery, conveyors, robots, and bottling equipment, or anywhere motion control is necessary.

Miniature shock absorbers decelerate big loads at low speeds

A line of miniature shock absorbers decelerates heavy loads moving at low velocities, offering increased energy per cycle. The SC2 Heavyweight II Series from ACE Controls Inc., Farmington Hills, Mich., delivers up to 950% of the effective weight capacity of con-ventional shocks. The design combines the piston and in-ner tube into a single component, the piston tube, which both creates and controls pressure. Potential applications include rotary actuators, rodless cylinders, conveyors, pick-and-place operations, and slides.
The Series uses a bladder-type accumulator to keep internal components clean.Rate control also has a larger piston rod diameter than previous models. These two features allow for more energy per cycle, increased side load capability, and longer life.
The SC2 Heavyweight II Series offers soft-contact deceleration where initial impact forces are low. The Industrial shock absorber also copes with changing input energy conditions without adjustment. These shock absorbers can be used to decelerate loads, prevent impact damage, dampen noise, increase equipment speeds, and improve product performance.
The miniature shock absorber design combines the piston and the inner tube into a single component, the piston tube. It both controls and creates pressure.
